Chennai, 11th July 2012 : Indian employees are willing to compromise on salary for pleasant colleagues and job security according to Randstad India’s latest global Workmonitor Survey 2012, a quarterly review that tracks jobseekers confidence and provides a comprehensive understanding of job market sentiment and trends relating to the employment market across 32 countries. The survey indicates that 82% of the employees surveyed in India attach a premium to pleasant colleagues, which is the second highest in the world after China and it is well above the world average of 60%. The survey also reflects that employees in India work to live rather than live to work, which is on par with the global average.

Microsoft India emerged as the winner of the Randstad Award 2012 for the second consecutive year and was awarded the ‘Most Attractive Employer’ in the country followed by Oracle India and Tata Consultancy Services. The Randstad Award 2012 event was held at Mumbai, where Volkswagen India and Nokia India were awarded special recognition in the Auto sector and Consumer Durables industry sector, respectively.
