- 3-D CFD flow & thermal simulation of electric machines & Inverters for low, medium & high voltage EV application
- Strong knowledge in Thermal Management, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer for automotive system/sub system.
- Solves complex flow/thermal tasks taking customer requirements, performance requirements, manufacturing possibilities, norms and standards into consideration
- Responsible for cooling design of electric machines & Inverters for Battery Electric Vehicle applications
- Build thermal models for electric motors & Inverters based on operating conditions and cooling method
- Perform thermal analysis and design optimization
- Work with electrical design engineer to finalize electro-magnetic design
- Work with power electronics design engineer to finalize cooling design & requirements
- Work with transmission design team to define cooling method and cooling demand for electric machines.
- Work with CAD designers to develop prints for all mechanical parts
- Develop cooling system for electric machine test housing for dyno tests.
- Build, test and evaluate electric machine prototypes
- Application Knowledge of DFMEA.
- Knowledge of Electric motor, power electronic components & its thermal behavior.
- Knowledge in APQP and phase gate process.
- Knowledge in product/concept/technology benchmarking.
- Knowledge in EV thermal systems components manufacturing process.
- Strong knowledge in flow & thermal behavior & application
- Hands on experience in flow/thermal system/sub system simulation
- Hands on experience in 1D flow/thermal simulation at component & vehicle level
- First time right simulation approach & good correlation with experimental results
- Expertise in quick turn-around of multiple DoE’s for flow/thermal simulation using 1-D & 3-D simulation tool
