associate director - pricing sme in bengaluru / bangalore

As a Pricing Lead, this individual will collaborate closely with the client’s actuarial team to provide thought leadership and develop best in class pricing, modelling, and data science capabilities and provide offering.
About the role
1.Pricing Governance / Risk Management in life insurance
2.Develop and institutionalize pricing standards, best practices, and guidelines
3.Document and interface with stakeholders on regulatory risk controls
4.Govern model lifecycle (e.g., validation, documentation, impact analysis, update)
5.Conduct pricing audits to ensure compliance with global standards
6.Interface with ERM, internal audit, and underwriting risk management as per requirements
Process focused operations
1.Partner with client’s chief actuaries to develop and update models and benchmarks
2.Support client’s chief actuaries on regulatory, audit, rating agency matters
3.Support client’s chief actuaries on pricing and modelling projects and deliverables
4.Provide portfolio insights to the stakeholders
5.Monitor product performance, ensuring that product pricing supports the delivery of the overall business Life pricing strategy
6.Provide market intelligence via management of portal business intelligence, ensure business intelligence provision fit for purpose and integrated with pricing processes Development / Research
1.Using actuarial principles and pricing models, lead the design and pricing of new life insurance products and/or enhancements to existing life products
2.Develop and/or enhance pricing models to support product pricing and design3.Propose tactical pricing actions for products to support the achievement on new business volume and value targets
4.Secure required pricing approvals from key stakeholders by balancing competitive benchmarks and acceptable levels of expected profit and risk
5.Create and maintain pricing assumption and final pricing documentation
6.Advance modelling approaches and techniques while broadening application
7.nsure robust and scalable processes are embedded for the ongoing pricing and monitoring of life products8.Staff Development
9.Recruit, train, and staff to build & expand organization capabilities and client needs What we’re looking for:
The candidate should possess strong technical and business expertise with the ability to build sustainable, collaborative relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead, motivate and gain commitment from key constituents.
Additional requirements include:
1.Preferrable / not Mandatory if the person has good hands on experience: Aspiring for Actuarial fellowship and have only 2-3 papers left to acquire fellowship, with 10+ years of actuarial pricing experience in Life Insurance
2.Skills in one or more tools like R, Python, SAS, Prophet etc.
3.Advanced technical pricing, modelling, and data science expertise with both a theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of econometric and actuarial disciplines.
4.Ability to dive into technical and execution level details, do hands-on work, connect the dots while thinking strategically and serve as a strong thought partner to cross-functional leaders.
5.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present internally and externally and influence for outcome. Ability to communicate business insight through compelling narratives.
6.Comprehensive awareness of the business, regulatory environment, competitors, market cycle, technology and legislative trends.
