Position Title, Code & Level: Sales Engineer/Sales Manager (Sales/Oil&Gas/Chem/Ref /Power & Others Defense/SE/SM/001)L4                                                                                     Location: As applicable

Position Summary: (Brief Overview)

A client of Randstad is seeking for a Sales associate who will be responsible for providing technical solutions to customer’s problems by understanding their system needs and offering the right products that meets those needs. For this the associate will need to be high on technical skill and application knowledge.  This Position will be mainly responsible for strengthening Company products specification and expansion of AVL for the identified list of endusers and engineering companies. Additionally the associate will be responsible for commercial negotiations with customers and will have to secure sales that is good for profit to ensure sound Business Health. This position will actively participate in preparing Sales Plan, Lead Generation, Contact Management and Opportunity Management. This position will also be directly responsible for training activities.

Key Responsibilities: (Functional responsibilities associated with the position)



Identify Opportunities for Sales development through market analysis & capitalize on the existing network of customers, develops an opportunity wise plan.



 Build business relationships & rapport with key decision-makers in assigned region.



Support branches where a certain OEM package is awarded for Endusers & EPC`s.



Conduct daily customer order reviews & revisions for technical matters and ensure timely ordering & delivery of products to customer by communicating customer expectations to customer service & proposal engineers.




Implement the key opportunity management & execute the activities independently or with help from concerned other department as applicable. This will include planning customer visits to discuss & become approved vendor in their AVL`s and get our lock in specs registered. Early engagement with customers to discuss application & design optimization activities, conduct product demonstration/presentations, execute value added services like leak Audits & Certified trainings etc. at customer`s site, participating in field engineering activities like Application solutions & Advisory Program.



Day to day management of the sales activities in adherence to the Sales processes.

  • Participate in the organization`s strategic planning process & work to achieve the targets assigned to the department.
  • Timely update yourself by training & assessment with inhouse training tools, live Training, etc.
  • Learn about the company Quality Systems (SQS) & incorporate direct procedures in the day to day activity. Also participate in the Continuous Improvement projects of the department.
  • Learn about Business Systems & use them as per the assigned user`s responsibility.


Position Requirements: (Basic skills required for the systematic execution of Job)

Functional Area of expertise: (Preferred background)

  • Should have at least 3 years of experience of selling Instrumentation/ Mechanical / Technical Products & Services to the Engineering sector (End Users and EPC`s).


Experience: (Min – Max) 3yrs - 7yrs        


Education: BE/B.Tech (Instrumentation or Mechanical)/ with MBA (Sales / Marketing).
