Your Job
- Collaboration with developers, Azure Teams, and other IT professionals to ensure technical, organizational and compliance needs
- Install and configure SQL database systems
- Create and modify database objects, including tables, views, functions, indexes, and stored procedures
- Implement and maintain regular database backups and restores
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans
- Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks with SQL profiler and QUEST Foglight
- Optimize SQL queries and database configurations for improved efficiency
- Implement database security measures to protect sensitive data
- Manage user access and permissions, ensuring data confidentiality
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as index optimization and data purging
- Scale database systems as needed to accommodate growth
- Continuously optimize monitoring artifacts to proactively detect and resolve database issues
- Maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, procedures, & schema diagrams
- Support and guide developers to avoid database performance degradation
Your Profile
- 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues
- The ability to adapt to modern technologies and keep up with industry trends and best practices
- Efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2019
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services related to SQL databases, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Blob Storage and preferably Azure Data Factory
- Understanding of database design principles, normalization, denormalization and SQL Query Plan Optimization
- Proficiency in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning to ensure optimal database performance
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL for automating database tasks and maintenance
- Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies, with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), including both on-premises and Azure-based solutions
- Understanding of database security best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and auditing
- Experience with setting up and managing high availability solutions and disaster recovery solutions
- Ability to use monitoring tools and troubleshoot database-related issues effectively
- "HandsOn" mentality to solve urgent problems in the IFRS17 environments
- Ability to work in a complex SQL environment, as IFRS17 has 24 SQL Servers (2019, IaaS)
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience working with Azure services and resource management
