Role: Senior Business Analyst

Experience: 7 to 15 years of relevant experience in Petrochemical or chemical Industry.

Education: University-level Business Economics / Finance-related qualifications.

Role Purpose: Support business in timely forecasting, budgeting, reporting and analysis of business / financial results and carry out key SOX controls. This position provides AfMEI (Africa & Middle East) management with market, economic and financial analysis necessary to decide short and long term strategy for the region/ process flows and resultant improvement in financial and operational performance. It will require interaction with customer management, marketing, off-take management and operation/ service functions – such as supply chain, controlling & credit, regional business finance etc. and with external consultants

Responsibilities :

1) Coordination/consolidation of the annual update of the five-year strategic plan (LRP) and annual bottom-up business plan by ensuring the collection of data from all relevant business areas, providing historical data, generating financial results and providing objective feedback on inputs for the five-year forecast.

2) Contribute to the effective business planning for any assigned project (e.g market and segment analysis, DSO, DOH targets, study effectiveness of business models – HUB/BWH vis-à-vis back to back) through an interpretive projection of business information, an identification of problems and opportunities, and a capacity to develop recommendations to correct problems and capitalize on opportunities.

3)Preparation and coordination of the assembly of appraisal meeting presentations (inc annual STI template), business presentation for senior management including creation of charts & tables used for business analysis.

4)Maintain intelligence on market, supply/demand, trade flows, competitor profiles, segment mapping, cost curves benchmarks

5) Carrying out specific key SOX controls with respect to variance analysis.

6)Develop and maintain analytical models (e.g monthly KPI reports) for monitoring and managing business performance in BIT

Skills needed:

  • Advanced PC skills, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, databases, graphics
  • Familiar with the financial data and reporting infrastructure (SAP FICO, BW, BPC, COM; Hyperion) and able to work in that environment
  • Strong analytical evaluation and judgment skills; demonstrate ability to handle and lead complex analytical and evaluation assignments; attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills consistent with client group including Senior Managers & Executives
