Specific Responsibilities:

The role of Country Manager INDIAIndia (sometimes referred to as GM / General Manager) leads and is accountable for the India business, including corporate office staff and the franchise network. It forms a key part of the Asia Pacific leadership team and as such, reports directly into the CEO Asia Pacific.

Working at strategic, tactical, operational and transactional layers from both a planning and implementation perspective, the Country Manager aligns country activities and deliverables with regional and global plans, processes and targets. Formaulation of the India annual budgets, tracking performance to these targets and overseeing all areas of the business underpins this position.

The key departments (and Managers) that are directly or indirectly managed by the Country Manager include Franchise Development, Business Coaching, Marketing, Operations (including the Franchise Support Centre), Finance and Compliance. Working closely with regional management (the Chief Exeuctive Officer, Head of Finance and Head of Business Development), the Country Manager not only influences the plans and implementation of key initiatives but also leads individual departments and teams to deliver on the company objectives.

To effectively drive high levels of performance, this position requires a hands on approach and skills in leadership, communication and people management with strong financial, commercial and general management experience to deliver results and growth objectives in the right manner. It also requires a motivated and dynamic professional with previous exposure to the freight industry who not only leads others but also works collaboratively within the wider regional and global team.

  • Should have basic understanding about the local laws which have impact on business
  • Work with finance team to develop a solid cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, which includes setting a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft suite of products, namely PowerPoint, Excel and Word, including producing reports for management

Bachelor’s degree in business or related, MBA from top school preferred

15+ years corporate experience with P&L exposure/management

Working within or dealing with the freight sector highly regarded

Partner model engagement or franchising experience well regardedAbility to train, develop and manage large executive teams

Executive Presence and ability maintain calm demeanor in high stress environments
