About the role: LRN team develops data specifically for a set of key product domains like eLearning, Disclosures, personalization and completions. We deal in AWS technologies like Aurora RDS, DMS, KMS, Cloudwatch. You'll support our database landscape and partner with Product and BI teams to build new behavioural events, pipelines, datasets, models, and reporting to support their initiatives. The individual in this role will have the opportunity to: • Design stable, reliable and effective databases objects as per the application needs • Monitor database matrices, logs, alerts to maintain database availability • Logical/physical backups and restorations • Handle database deployments • Modify databases objects according to requests and perform tests • Solve database usage/performance issues and malfunctions • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices • Gather user requirements and identify new features • Provide database management support to concerned stakeholders • Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols • Work with Application teams for any data reporting queries/requests. • Design and optimize SQL queries • Troubleshooting and providing solutions for any bugs in new database applications • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning • Handle database patching, upgrades, failover/switchovers, database refresh and all such database maintenance activities Must have: • Strong knowledge on Aurora Postgres Administration • knowledge on MongoDB, MySQL administration • knowledge of AWS cloud concepts and services like AWS Glue, athena, RDS, DMS • knowledge of database performance tuning DR activities, backups, encryption, upgrades etc • Design and optimize SQL queries in PostgreSQL • Design, create, modify and remove database objects (tables, views, indexes, keys, stored procedures, functions, DB links, etc.) to support development projects Should have: • Good knowledge of ETL’s • Basic knowledge of OS/Linux, Git, shell scripting • Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts Good to have: • Knowledge data warehouse/Analytics concepts and understanding • Knowledge on database migration work experience as a Database developer in PostgreSQL • Knowledge/experience on deployment automation concepts
