Client is a reputed Indian Group company Job Title : Estate Manager 

Overall head of the Plantations business and responsible for smooth functioning of all operations of the Tea estates 

  1. Identify and implement new technologies to maximize yield and review current cultivation practices and address process deficiencies
  2. Constantly lookout for identifying new business opportunities to get maximize revenue through plantations and present it to Board for consideration and approval 
  3. Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, Forecasting, reporting and auditing on time to the Board for consideration.
  4. Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  5. Developing the marketing strategy for new products in Domestic and International market
  6. Ensure to work closely with production management and the products are meet quality standards obtainable in the industry
  7. Monitor the finished products to ensure the quality are met before declared ready to export
  8. Overseeing implementation of the Marketing Strategy – including events and digital marketing.
  9. Ensuring overall compliance covering legal, HR and administration
  10. Identifying potential buyers and negotiating best price for export of Tea leaves
  11. Responsible for purchase function of raw materials, capital items and other material required for the functioning of the Group 
  12. Oversees the operations in terms of Cultivation, Harvesting and Manufacture and provide advice and inputs 
  13. Liaise with various Government Departments / bodies, Trade Union leaders etc to ensure smooth functioning of the Group 
  14. Liaise with various arms of the Company internally like Marketing, Finance, HR, MD's office etc to ensure plans and targets are met
  15. Work closely with the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to prepare annual budgets, complete risk analysis on potential investments, and advise the Board of Directors with regard to investment risk and returns

Essential Competencies: 

  1. Thorough knowledge of cultivation practices, manufacturing and processing of Tea/Coffee 
  2. Good understanding of cost and identify areas for significant cost reduction 
  3. Knowledge and expert level proficiency of the local language (Tamil /Hindi /Kannada / Malayalam)
  4. Commercial acumen and good understanding of sales, exports and quality control and assurance 
  5. Should be willing to travel extensively and frequently across all estates and other locations
