Roles and Responsibilities

  • Mine planning & execution, Manpower planning, equipment planning, Statutory compliances.
  • Planning & exploring project development and implementation.
  • Maintaining quality as per EHS, OHSAS, IMS.
  • Implementation of Daily & Policy management as Deming Standard for improving production, productivity, quality, safety, and morale & optimizing cost.
  • Liaison with government authorities, dealing union officials & local people
  • Selection & working & implementation of SIPs (Systematic Improvements Projects on Production, productivity, Safety, Cost, quality, etc.
  • Formulation of ABP (Annual Business Plan) for the department.
  • Mentoring & Coaching officers and supervisors.
  • Motivational activities for the team members.
  • Imparting on-the-job training.
  • Ensuring ZERO tolerance in SAFETY &Targeting and achieving ZERO LTIFR.
  • Inculcating Safe behavior into the employees.
  • Integrating Safety &Implementation of SAFETY standards as per DUPONT Safety principles.
  • Working on SAP.
  • Monitoring of departmental KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Planning & exploring project development and implementation of detailed prospecting in stages leading to detailed exploration stages.
  • Conducting project review meetings and taking adequate corrective actions as required.
  • Designing and implementing policies, guidelines, and procedures to establish & maintain high-quality standards in the environment, occupational health & safety.
  • Formulating and establishing production plans & strategies for ensuring exploration assignments in the set time frame.
  • Managing a wide gamut of exploration operations entailing:
  • Preparing competency profiles for Officers and Non-Officers.
  • Manpower planning and rightsizing.
  • Taking SMART improvement projects on safety, cost, and reliability and implementing them in the organization.
  • Compliance with statutory requirements as per MoEF, MoC, and DGMS clearances.
  • Interaction with Contractors / MDO on issues and sorting out.
  • Employee Motivation Leading, mentoring & monitoring the performance of team members to ensure efficiency in process operations and meeting set targets.
  • Motivating workforce; imparting continuous on-the-job training for accomplishing greater operational effectiveness/efficiency.
  • Managing industrial relations and delegating work schedules for the Mining team to ensure smooth functioning of operations & leading people working at all levels at the site.
  • Creating and sustaining a dynamic environment that fosters development opportunities and motivates high performance amongst team members. Implementing Safety Requirements at site Thrusting on the behavioral aspect of safety since safety is our core value
  • Ensure no fatalities and lost-time injuries in the mines.
  • Implementation of all applicable standards and advisories on safety and health apart from Mines Act/rules and regulations and bylaws thereby.
  • Implementation of mandatory personal protective equipment in mines which includes helmets, safety glasses, visible jackets, and shoes apart from site-specific applicable PPE's.
  • R & R responsibilities IR issues.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor of Engineering (Mining)

First Class Managers Certificate of Competency

Min 25yrs - 30 yrs experience in opencast and underground coal mines.
