Client is an MNC setting up its plant in Chennai. Job title: HR Generalist 

Key Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Plan, organize, and control all activities of the HR department, including managing the department budget; develop department goals and objectives; and evaluate department in relation to established goals.  Manage customer feedback to ensure that expectations of the HR function are met and initiate actions when required. 
  • Promote, support and participate in continuous improvement as an integral part of the HR function, recommending new approaches, programs, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency of the department and services provided.
  • Provide coaching, counseling and policy guidance to management and employees; handle issues timely, consistently, and effectively to reach resolution and promote positive employee relations; and ensure adherence to company policies to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
  • Lead an effective recruitment and selection process that will identify qualified talent, support work force diversity efforts, and meet local staffing needs.  Oversee related international assignment, Global mobility and relocation activities in conformance with company guidelines.
  • Develop, implement, and administer a comprehensive compensation/rewards and benefits strategy to attract and retain talent. Salary Planning based on periodical reviews, ratings including Market Survey consolidation.
  • Identify training needs and develop, implement, and deliver training programs with effective measures that support workforce diversity efforts and attract, retain and develop talent.
  • Develop employee and management performance programs; identify high potential employees and formulate a succession plan for key positions in line with Global Talent development guidelines.
  • Represent the company at community activities and employee events.
  • Work towards developing Organizational culture by way of adhering to action Plans that will support both Salaried & Hourly categories (Staff & Operators).
  • Conceive & Drive Organizational development by way of New HR initiatives & Interventions.
  • Create avenues to create a positive atmosphere for employees to get heard and address their grievances in a structured process to ensure an energetic Industrial relations atmosphere by establishing various forums & committees.
  • Ensure timely functioning of Management / HR Information Systems such as Performance Management systems, HeadCount Reconciliation, Workday, I help, HR Score Card, Statutory Compliance tracker MIS, Career profiles and management portals and Linked IN etc.
  • Initiate Cost Savings Projects
  • Work & Coordinate along with global counterparts with respect to all respective supports related to Human Resource function.
Experience  8 to 12 years in HR generalist role with manufacturing background
