Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Responsible, in partnership with the Business Project Manager, for the project activities, manages scope, budget and resources to support the development and implementation of LIMS software meeting the business objectives.
  • Representing IT, will drive all the project life-cycle phases, including activities such as planning, designing, documenting, testing, deploying, integrating, communication, reporting, change management, incident management, and  configuration management, ensuring the delivery of the project deliverables on-time, within budget and, with high quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The IT Project Manager bridges the upper management and the execution team by planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting on the projects to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget with expected results. The LIMS IT Project Manager is responsible to manage the development and implementation of a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in a complex environment involving multiple sites internationally;
  • Provides strategic consultation, recommendations and manages the entire project life-cycle phases, including activities such as planning, designing, documenting, testing, deploying, integrating, communication, reporting, change management, incident management, and  configuration management;
  • Defines priorities, elaborates roadmaps, and ensures that project deliverables are in line with the business requirements, delivered on schedule, and meeting the quality standards defined;
  • Coordinates and facilitates work group discussions involving other Project Managers, Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, Solution Architects and Subject Matter Experts to elicit and document business and user requirements, perform gap analysis, define and reengineer processes based on internal and industry best-practices;
  • Manages project team(s) and the project(s) activities daily, tracks progress, and ensures activities are performed as expected, promoting clear ownership for project tasks and contributing to remove any impediments across the project(s);
  • Selects, coaches, and develops staff to form a project team. Measures performance, develops improvement plans, and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement of project(s) activities and resources. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team;
  • Reports on the project activities to the relevant stakeholders;

·         Identifies, assesses and authors documentation and addresses ways to harmonize and improve current processes/systems, as well as introducing new ones;

  • Ensures project activities aligns with Eurofins policies, procedures and methodologies.
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision;
  • Regular attendance and punctuality;
  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate;
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;

·         Owns the accountability and responsibility of delivering to client needs and timeliness;

·         Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required;

·         Adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines;

·         Adheres to site environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements.

Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required. 

Education/Experience (BMQ):

·         Engineer degree, Bachelor of Business Administration, Computer Science or Management Information Systems, Life Sciences, or any other equivalent degree or experience;

·         Minimum 10 years of experience with software development and implementation, including business process design and improvement, in the scope of large systems implementation, preferably in a laboratory  / bioinformatics environment (LIMS/ Analytical Software);

·         Worldwide recognized project management certification (i.e., PMI or PRINCE2);

·         Solid expertise of software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management.

Additional preferences:

·         IIBA Business Analyst certification or similar;

·         Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment.

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

·         Very good interpersonal relation skills at all levels of the organization, with capability to influence decisions and lead others to achieve results;

·         Mastering of tools, concepts, and methodologies related to project management (software development and integration is a plus);

·         Above average oral and written communication skills;

·         Experience with team management and leadership that span multiple time-zones and different cultures;

·         Capacity to conceptualize creative solutions, as well as documenting them and presenting/selling them to all levels of the organization, including senior management;

·         Responsive problem solver and proactive to take actions;

·         Details oriented, analytical and investigation skills;

·         Ability to multitask with organization and manage time effectively;

·         Entrepreneurial thinking and flexibility to change;

·         Strong customer focus and ability to manage (internal or external) Client expectations;

·         Ability to work in a complex international environment;

·         Demonstrates a positive attitude, capacity for team environment, and exhibits a genuine interest in drug discovery in support of advancing human health.
