Coampny: an European HVAC Manufacturing company Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply Value Engineering, Design to Cost methods to generate technical ideas & challenge internal/external stake holders on savings & the impact, by understanding product requirements
  • Value Engineering, Value Analysis and Should costing of Mechanical / Electromechanical parts/products
  • Tear down & Bench marking for Design, Value & Cost
  • Participate in Idea Generation Workshops & contribute to the maximum in terms of creativity/cost down ideas
  • Lead & Drive large scale diverse, complex, cross-functional Idea Generation Workshops based on need – using Digital tools for virtual workshops
  • Ensure the process & governance is applied through-out the journey & work for improvement
  • Develop new tools/processes required to strengthen existing approach & own them
  • Can also take part in supplier negotiations to support Procurement Organization & ensure full potential is achieved

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production or Manufacturing Engineering 
  • 5+years of demonstrated experience in Value engineering/Value analysis, Design to Cost, Should costing or Target costing 
  • Must have worked in an organization/team or role where Cost savings were one of main KPI using Product Cost Management principles
  • Strong knowledge on manufacturing processes and best practices related to Mechanical / Electromechanical products & components
  • Exposure on global sourcing of components related to mechanical and electromechanical categories
  • In-depth knowledge & experience in applying Value Engineering and Cost Engineering in New Product design & development
  • Familiar in Creo/Inventor 3D modelling, or similar CAD tools
  • Familiar in Simulation tools like ANSYS, MOLDFLOW
  • Knowledge and use of Risk Management tools like xFMEA’s
  • Be able to perform Engineering calculations, concept design, tolerance stack up analysis
  • Exposure to aPriori or similar Costing tool
  • Project Management knowledge & experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with both internal and external stake holders across cultures and positions in management 
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Flair for continuous improvement and Process Excellence
  • Comfortable in working under ambiguous scenarios
  • Good in using digital transformation tools / Data Analytics
  • Familiar in Sustainability Engineering competencies related to Decarbonization, Design for Circularity principled in product cost down
