legal manager in chennai

?Provide legal advice to the Indian entities independently and where required under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel/General Counsel including:
- Statutory compliance under Factories Act and other Labour laws.
- Handling various labor related cases including Workmen Compensation, ESI, PF, Bonus Act etc.
- Handling trade unions and other workers Union.
- Filing of various statutory forms under Factories Act and other Labour laws.
- Appearing before Factory Inspector, Labour Inspector for any enquiry etc.
- Drafting legal documents;
- Negotiating legal contracts;
- Advising and managing (with or without outside counsel) on labour issues & litigious matters;
- Implementation of Group Directives;
- Participating in companys various Group projects and assistance in the Groups commercial transactions as assigned by the management.
- Regular consulting of internal clients as part of 'preventative lawyering' program etc

qualification

?Law school graduate and a member of the an accredited bar with minimum ten years experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or the legal department of a multinational corporation, especially having experience in labour laws, Factories Act, Labour compliance. Litigation experience will be an advantage.

The candidate must be able to work autonomously. Experience in advising on issues relating to manufacturing units in India in addition to experience of varied contracts including logistics, finance, and construction etc.

Knowledge and experience of corporate & general legal issues would be advantageous.
