Job Title: Legal Manager

Reporting to: Executive Board and the General Manager & Director

Reportees: 3-4 direct reportees

Experience: 10-20 Yrs

Educational Qualification: 

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a reputed institution. (BSL ,BLL, LLB ,LLM,MSL)

  • Exp as Company Secretary would be a plus

Location: Pune -Their Corporate Office

Role and Responsibility:

Legal risk 

  • Review and provide legal advice on tender documents. 

  • Review & track the ongoing legal cases and update the status to the management accordingly. 

  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate risk mitigation plan & courses of action are in place to avoid the risk.

  • Provide legal protection and risk management advice to management especially on contract management. 

  • Impart training on legal information & requirement to the employees

Policy Development  

  • Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures. 

  • Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements. 

Litigation Matters 

  • Review the progress of the ongoing & outstanding litigation matters with External lawyers and update the status to the management.

Legal Compliance 

  • Prepare compliance checklist to ensure that all required documents & information are in place as per the compliance 

  • Timely monitor the compliances along with statutory obligation and update the relevant information to the management 

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetings. 

Contract Negotiation 

  • Review all the contracts & service agreement on timely basis to avoid legal complications 

  • Any Legal implication should be immediately informed to the management to avoid any legal risk. 

  • Prepare, review and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities. 

  • Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business transactions and prepare and advise on the necessary checklist to be adopted to ensure information is submitted on time. 

  • Renewing of licenses for group and its entities 

Legal Research 

  • Doing legal research on legal aspects for any new projects related to tenders, bidding & compliance 

Board Meeting

  • Conduct the board meetings (Quarterly & Yearly) 

  • Prepare the MOM of the Board Meeting 

  • Follow for the MOM agenda and action plan for completion of task 

Required Profile (Candidate should have exposure to) 

  • International laws experience will be preferred. 

  • Should have good knowledge of Law methods & techniques 

  • Ready to accept challenges and perform for best results 

  • Should be able to work with Cross Functional teams 

  • Be organized and methodical 

  • Be proactive and able to take the initiative

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel

  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
