Roles & Responsibilities
Carry out the advance level of troubleshooting VMware, Cisco UCS
Work in a 24 X 7 Environment (NOC).
Extend technical support to Clients over email and phone.
Responsible for the uptime of the various client projects being managed / monitored.
Ensure that all the tickets raised / in bucket is worked upon, updated, closed as per SLA and if not escalate as per the escalation Matrix defined.
Shift report generation on daily issues handled / escalated in the form of Daily reports.
Work on the change request and new Installations / deployments
Patch and Upgrade VMware ESXi Hosts, Upgrade HW
RCA preparation and meeting SLA for RCA submission
Vendor Call log & follow up for hardware, software issues when required
Soft Skills
Good communication written and verbal
Email & Telephone Etiquette
Primary Skills (Must have)
Hands on knowledge of Installation, configuration, troubleshooting of VMware ESXi 6.x/7.x
Strong Troubleshooting skills, including analysis of logs, events
Proficient in controlling administrator rights on VM Infrastructure, Use of VMware Converter Enterprise and overview.
Set-up of resource pools and a VMware Distributed Resources Scheduler (DRS) cluster, Resource Management, Resource Monitoring
Set-up of a VMware High Availability (HA) cluster
Configuration of virtual switches, network connections and port groups Configure Storage
Experience on multiple h/w (Cisco UCS/Dell/HPE/Chassis)
Working experience in DataCenter environment
Well versed with ITIL processes
Secondary Skills (Good to have)
Experience in managing AWS / GCP platform
Preferable knowledge on Containerization (Docker) and Container orchestration platforms (Preferably Kubernetes), Kubernetes clusters, Pods, Containers, OpenShift etc
Conceptual knowledge on RHEV/OVM/SUSE Virtualization/VMware VCD/ NSX
Technical Certifications
