- Lead Process Engineering activities for petrochemical plants and downstream derivative units. Responsible for reviewing feedstocks and recommendations, techno-economic evaluation of configuration options with production of mass balances using process simulations and detailed economic model for economical evaluation. Development of chosen configuration option including incorporating feedback and yield sets from licensor into updated mass balance and development of the offsite and utilities (O&U) design to support the cost estimate.
- Responsible for Interest to Bid (ITB) preparation, licensor evaluation and subsequent process review/management of the licensor PDPs for an integrated petrochemical complex
- Lead technical team including to coordinate review and manage Licensor package deliverables, liaising with package Licensor and Owner teams during Process Design Package and FEED development/FEED Engineering and Procurement support. Interface design alignments with other Licensed process units, Utilities and Offsite.
- Participate in design basis meetings, PFD, P&ID, HAZOP review meetings and provide support in review of PDP and FEED documents.
- Develop and review Pre-FEED study deliverables, concept report, process flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID), process description, process philosophies, for new petrochemical plants.
- Review and endorse, PDP and FEED documents for sizing information of process equipment (Heaters, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, separators, etc.) material selection drawings, line sizing, hydraulics and other generated equipment specifications.
- For existing plant provide technical support, analyze key process trends and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Provide support in statistical process data analysis, results interpretation, technology reports preparation, troubleshooting plant issues and developing innovative technical solutions based on in-depth Petrochemicals technology knowledge and experience.
- Identifying, developing and implementing short, mid and long-term technology projects in Petrochemical plant for improving yield and energy intensity. Lead and manage troubleshooting efforts to ensure that accurate and effective technology solution is provided in a timely manner to address critical plant issues.
- Support manufacturing and performance group as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Process Benchmarking and Gap Closure Studies.
- Conduct due diligence and feasibility studies on emerging technologies and advancements in Petrochemicals. Prepare technology white paper to translate technical knowledge into relevant recommendations and guidance for senior management.
- Generate new ideas and lead /assist in development of proof of concept to commercial scale.
What's Required
- B.Tech / M.Tech / PhD in Chemical Engineering
- Years of experience depending on the Job Description and role.
- Experience in petrochemical technology development particularly, in Process synthesis, design, modeling and simulation, piloting, separation optimization, integration (e.g. pinch analysis), intensification, optimization, techno-economic and sustainability analysis of new processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Process simulators such as, but not limited to Aspen, Hysys, PetroSIM, PRO II etc.
- Experience in development and review of CDP, PDP, FEED and Detailed Engineering Activities for mega scale petrochemical plant.
- Effective analytical, problems solving skills and possess high assertiveness/negotiation skills
