Revenue Recognition Accountant

Primary Duties / Responsibilities
· Performing month-end and quarter-end close processes, including account reconciliation
preparation, and preparing/posting journal entries for revenue related accounts and contra
revenue accounts. The individual must have the ability to research and reconcile
variances.
· Preparation of top deal reviews. Including preparing revenue allocations, performing
agreement review, and concluding on the propriety of revenue recognition in accordance
with ASC 606.
· Document and maintain relevant policies and desktop operating procedures.
· Occasionally participate in UAT testing and have the ability to document results and
apply critical thinking.
· Build strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external teams with a
focus on driving efficiencies and improving levels of service.
· Ad-hoc requests as required.
Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities)
Required:
· Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance required.
· 3-5 years of related accounting experience, inclusive of 1-2 years of public accounting
experience.
· Advanced Excel Skills and solid PC skills.
· Experience executing in a dynamic, high speed and demanding environment by
demonstrating organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and
prioritization skills.
· Demonstrated experience of data analysis, problem solving and solutions development.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general revenue documents and contracts.
· Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines.
· Ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions, and effectively
present information to managers, peers, and customers.
· Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people; strong communication skills,
both written and oral.
· Preference will be provided to candidates with past ASC 606 revenue recognition
experience.
