A leading steel manufacturing company in India is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer for a contract position. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment at our Bokaro, Jharkhand facility.
Tasks
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Provide safety training and awareness programs to all employees and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws, regulations, and permits.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Collaborate with management and employees to foster a strong safety culture.
Skills
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience in a Safety Officer role, preferably within the steel industry.
- Proven expertise in safety management, hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Strong knowledge of Indian safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
