Role Profile:SENIOR Manager- Quality

Experience:

 

  • Experience in the development, implementation and auditing of quality systems and procedures
  • Minimum of 15 -20 years’ experience in high volume manufacture, preferably automotive skin Panels press & sheet Metal parts.
  • Should have experience of working in MNC’s (European company)
      

 

Job Purpose / Objectives:

 

  • Manage and support different customers like Fiat , Tata , Ford, Nissan , VW , MG Motors etc.,
  • Support new product engineering & change throughout the APQP process.
  • Support manufacturing, co-ordinate internal product / process improvement,
  • Problem solving and internal PPM improvements.
  • Interface with the customers to co-ordinate concerns and problem resolution.
  • Support purchasing to improve supplier performance.
  • Maintain & improve core quality documentation.
  • Maintain and improve quality and environmental system and procedures in line with ISO TS16949 and business requirements.
  • Carry out internal audits of the quality management system and follow up all corrective actions ensuring effective and timely response.
  • Formulate and conduct quality training and awareness events.
  • Undertake quality related projects with VW.
  • Regular interaction with VW quality team.
  • Knowledge of Customer specifications.
  • Responsible for EHS communication with VW.
  • To Ensure on job training of all employees by Gurukul (QMS,EMS EHS etc.)
  • Co-ordination of project related activities
  • Establish controls on Incoming material and monitor performance of Raw material Suppliers.
  • Authority to stop production & Stop shipments in case on NC to correct quality Problems
  • To review score card & Customer portals for quality and to initiate for corective actions

 

Job Responsibilities and Major Activities / Tasks:

 

  • Ensure Part submission requirements are achieved for all new, modified and existing parts on and ongoing basis.
  • Ensure part audits and process audits are carried out, measured and actioned.
  • Develop control plans, supporting action plans and SPC, ensuring their use and assessing results.
  • Define and agree formal quality standards for pressed panels and assemblies.
  • Ensure appropriate process control methods are employed.
  • To develop and implement quality operating procedures.
  • Collate, analyse and create plans to minimise the cost of quality, specifically reducing rectification and scrap.
  • Liaise with Production and Tool Room for the maintenance and improvement of tooling & processes.

 

  • Maintain and improve quality system and procedures in line with ISO TS16949 and business requirements.
  • Ensure Customer complaints and issues are actioned through 8D system.
  • Assist others in Quality & production as mentor on all quality matters.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the companies ISO TS 16949.
  • Must be prepared to work shifts / abnormal hours if required.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required

  • Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949:2009 and ISO14001
  • Working Knowledge of QS tools and procedures with particular references to APQP, SPC, FMEA’s, MSA and PPAP’s.
  • Practical understanding and familiarity with pressed panel formability and processes.
  • Working knowledge of pressed panel quality standards and checking media.
  • Working knowledge of CMM machines (preferably PCDmis).
  • Must be computer literate (word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS project).
