Experience - 3- 8 Years
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualization & Design: Develop innovative mechanical designs and solutions for new products or improvements to existing ones, taking into account functionality, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
2D Drafting & Detailing (AutoCAD Focus): Create precise 2D engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, and detailed part drawings using AutoCAD with a high degree of accuracy. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant drafting standards (e.g., GD&T, ISO).
3D Modeling (Supportive): Generate 3D models of components and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Fusion 360 – mention specific software if primary, otherwise keep general).
Analysis & Simulation: Perform basic engineering calculations, stress analysis, and other relevant simulations to validate designs and predict performance (mention specific FEA/simulation software if applicable).
Material Selection: Recommend and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, cost-effectiveness, and performance specifications.
Prototyping & Testing: Support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototypes. Analyze test data and implement design modifications as necessary.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, design reports, and assembly instructions.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, production, quality, and procurement to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet production requirements.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design-related issues, implement corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience: X to Y years of progressive experience in mechanical design, preferably in [mention specific industry, e.g., automotive, heavy machinery, consumer electronics, industrial equipment].
AutoCAD Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting and detailing is essential).
CAD Software: Proficient in at least one 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, Fusion 360).
Technical Drawing: Strong ability to read, interpret, and create complex engineering drawings, including the application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Mechanical Principles: Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, mechanics of materials, machine design, and manufacturing processes.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively.
Initiative: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
