- Strategic & Annual Business Planning
- Define and execute the long-term strategy and vision for the O&M vertical in alignment with the company’s overall goals.
- Drive business growth through market analysis, client engagement, and expansion into new geographies or service segments
- Prepare and implement annual business plans, setting operational and financial targets for the maintenance and service teams including budget control, resource planning and allocation.
- Own the Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the Operations & Maintenance vertical, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Tendering, Proposal & Estimation, and Contracting
- Lead the preparation and submission of tenders, proposals, and cost estimations for new and existing projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather technical and commercial inputs for accurate and competitive proposals.
- Negotiate, finalize, and manage contracts with Oil Marketing Companies, principals, and service providers, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and service levels.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure all deliverables and obligations are met.
- Operations & Maintenance Management
- Ensure the optimal performance of all O&M contracts ensuring timely and quality performance.
- Ensure deployment and management of manpower, equipment, and other resources across multiple contracts/projects.
- Drive the adoption of best practices and new technologies to improve operational efficiency, safety, service reliability and quality.
- Develop, enforce and digitization of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across sites.
- Service Level & Compliance
- Maintain and monitor SLAs with Oil Marketing Companies, ensuring all contractual obligations are met or exceeded.
- Ensure full compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulatory standards at all operational sites.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Team Leadership, relationship with Client/Principals/Partner & Stakeholder Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing field service team, fostering a culture of safety, integrity, ownership, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with the key Customers, Principals, Partners, and other OMC stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and service delivery.
- Represent the company in stakeholder meetings, negotiations, and industry forums to advance business interests and foster long-term partnerships.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Establish Goals/ KPIs for installation, maintenance, service activities and financial targets; monitor and review performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide regular reports on operational status, SLA compliance, and business plan progress to senior management.
- Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering along with MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance within the fuel retail, oil & gas, or related field service industry with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within O&M.
- Proven experience managing large-scale operations across multiple sites.
- Experience with and relevant certifications in SAP/ERP systems, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE), and Project Management will be considered an added advantage.
- This role involves frequent travel to state offices, customer offices, principal locations and sites.
