Job Overview:
We are in search of a Production Manager to lead our Phenolics Division, specializing in the production of Phenol Formaldehyde Novolac resins. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with equipment such as kettles, ACMs, and pastillators. Entrusted with overseeing production processes for different resin forms – powder, liquid, and pastil – as well as sand coating pastils, the role requires a deep understanding of resin synthesis and processing in alignment with international customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight: Direct and manage production operations for the phenol formaldehyde novolac resins in various forms.
Equipment Management: Oversee the efficient and safe operation of kettles, ACMs, and pastillators, ensuring optimal utilization and maintenance.
Quality Assurance: Ensure resins are produced in alignment with specific customer specifications, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Plant Maintenance: Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure the health and longevity of production equipment and to minimize downtime.
KPI Adherence: Monitor, analyze, and adhere to KPIs aligned with export customers' expectations, ensuring timely and quality deliveries.
Process Optimization: Continually assess and refine production processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Safety and Compliance: Uphold stringent safety standards, ensuring that all production activities adhere to local, national, and international regulations.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor the production team, instilling a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with the R&D, logistics, sales, and customer service teams to align production with demand and ensure smooth operations.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with advancements in resin synthesis and processing technologies to bring about innovation in production processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical production, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Demonstrable expertise in the production of phenol formaldehyde novolac resins.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of kettles, ACMs, and pastillators.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a dynamic production environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
