Buyer MetalPosition Overview:Reporting to the Materials planning Manager, this position is a key role in developing then executing our supply chain strategies with responsibility for procurement & planning of commodity specific components in India. The procurement and planning role focus on aerial work platform products. We want you to utilize our global leverage to regionally achieve the best value in cost, quality, reliability, service, and support. This role will work directly with Global and Local supply base, co-ordinate cross functional relationships, including product development/ engineering, materials team, warehouse, operations & finance. Responsibilities:• Issue material forecast accordingly analyzing information from all our databases (ERP/Materials Tools)• Lead material planning and manage supplier relationship for respective commodity to meet Delivery, Quality, and cost goals.• Lead Vendor Development & Material Procurement related to Electrical, Electronic, Proprietary, Catalogue and customized procurement of medium to long lead time items.• Ordering on established Suppliers & Expediting Supplies and ensuring timely Material Arrival• Coordinating with Production Sourcing on new suppliers and delivery issues• Interface with Service for Parts and Service support for prototype and engineering issues.• Interface with Design, Manufacturing, Production, Quality and Finance • Addressing & reconciling vendor payments and supplies• Warranty, Field Issues, Line Rejections related issues, Corrective and preventive actions etc.• Lead new component procurement for new products & current scope of localization in India• Responsible for data integrity and alignment within MRP.• Analyze BOMs and confirm confirmation on systems (ERP/TMS & PFEP)• Primary contact to suppliers and warehouse team for regular supply of materials & also for Engineering Changes with Design team.• Control breakpoints implementations dates for incoming engineering changes.• Answers questions for internal parties as it relates to demand, BOMs, Materials Tools.• Follow up on weekly/daily updates to supplier manufacturing updates like delivery, Painting, Welding and Assembly process.• Support on new program/process implementations activities.Skill & Competencies:• Effective communication among departments, point of contact between Design & Sourcing to request information and with Materials and Production to provide accurate information.• Commodity specific skillset and experience in metal fabrication, forging & castings.• Knowledge on technical print reading, GD&T, engineering change implementation.• Strong analytical and statistics experience. • Supplier negotiation, cost analysis, zero base costing• Self-directed, capable of taking decisions. • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with MRP structure and functionality.• Proven inventory distribution and product flow knowledge.• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, mid-advanced (search formulas, pivot tables) capable of develop tools to present summarized information. Qualifications & Experience• Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering• Demonstrate effective leadership in both tactical & operational decision making.• Experience of handling Supplier development of relevant commodities and products.• Min 5-6 years of Industry experience.
