Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, and system integration of avionics and electrical systems for our eVTOL aircraft.
- Drive the selection, specification, and procurement of avionics hardware and electrical components, working closely with engineering, procurement, and supplier teams.
- Oversee the development and manufacturing of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Lead PCB design, review, and bring-up, collaborating with software and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and testing.
- Own system-level documentation, safety analysis, and certification support for avionics and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems engineering, software, propulsion, testing) to define interfaces and deliver integrated solutions.
- Define and enforce standards for reliability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A).
- Engage with external vendors and stakeholders, ensuring clear technical requirements and deliverables.
- Mentor and lead a team of electrical, avionics, and hardware engineers. Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Avionics,
Aerospace, or related field.
- 7-10+ years of experience in avionics/electrical systems engineering, preferably in the drone, eVTOL, or aerospace industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading the design and integration of avionics architecture for complex aircraft or UAVs.
- Proven experience with complex system integration and technical documentation for certification and safety.
- Deep knowledge of EWIS, PCB design, hardware bring-up, and avionics procurement processes.
- Proven track record working with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A).
- Hands-on experience in hardware-software integration and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and external suppliers.
- Entrepreneurial, “ownership” mindset and comfort with ambiguity. Bonus
- Experience with the full product development lifecycle, from prototyping to certification and delivery.
- Familiarity with electric propulsion systems, battery management, and flight control integration.
- Exposure to rapid prototyping and scaling manufacturing for aerospace products.
