Job Summary:
Leveraging your extensive maintenance background, particularly within the merchant navy or shipping industry, you will be responsible for leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our maintenance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of maintenance for designated units and equipment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational standards.
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventative maintenance schedules and procedures to maximize equipment uptime and minimize breakdowns.
- Lead and participate in the diagnosis and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Supervise and mentor junior maintenance personnel, providing technical guidance and support.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., operations, procurement) and external vendors for maintenance activities and spare parts procurement.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment history.
- Identify and implement improvements to maintenance procedures, equipment reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Participate in audits and inspections related to maintenance activities.
- Contribute to the development and management of the maintenance budget.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience of 7+ years in maintenance roles within the merchant navy or shipping industry is essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent understanding of preventative maintenance principles and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
