Key Responsibilities:
- Foundry Operations Management:
- Lead and manage complete foundry operations, including production, quality, maintenance, and engineering.
- Oversee Fast Loop Line and large hand moulding lines for producing castings above 200 kg weight for precision engineering applications.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide strategic leadership to a workforce of approximately 1250 personnel.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team with direct reports from Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering departments.
- Profitability & Cost Control:
- Ensure profitability of operations through cost-effective practices, efficient manpower planning, and budget control.
- Continuously monitor and optimize resource utilization, energy consumption, and material efficiency.
- Technology & Process Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the foundry, including automation, process optimization, and quality enhancement.
- Stay abreast of latest foundry technologies, equipment, and global best practices and assess their relevance for the organization.
- Business & Market Development:
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers in the Indian casting market.
- Develop market intelligence and contribute to business growth through customer engagement and product development.
- Supplier & Capital Equipment Management:
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and contractors for raw materials, consumables, and services.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend capital equipment required for modernization or capacity expansion.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, health and safety standards.
- Implement systems to achieve and sustain highest product quality standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum 20+ years in managing large-scale foundries producing iron and/or steel castings.
- Mandatory experience with Furan / Alpha Set / Pep Set sand moulding processes.
- Proven track record in producing precision engineering castings (200 kg and above).
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of foundry operations, metallurgy, pattern making, heat treatment, and machining processes.
- Leadership: Demonstrated capability in leading large teams and managing foundry operations independently.
- Industry Network: Strong network of customers and suppliers in the Indian foundry and engineering industry.
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Foundry Technology preferred.
