Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the assembly operations ensuring production targets are met with high quality, efficiency, and safety standards, aligning with organizational goals and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, and monitor assembly line operations to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes using lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies.
Monitor manpower planning, shift scheduling, and line balancing to optimize productivity.
Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain departments for seamless production execution.
Maintain quality standards and ensure defect-free assembly outputs.
Implement and track KPIs like OEE, productivity, downtime, and rejection rates.
Lead a team of supervisors and operators; train and motivate the team for performance and skill enhancement.
Handle production documentation, reports, and audits in compliance with ISO/TS standards.
Identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot assembly-related issues promptly.
Oversee implementation of new product introductions (NPI) and process changes smoothly on the shop floor.
Qualifications:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering or related discipline.
10–12 years of relevant experience in assembly operations, preferably in automotive or electrical manufacturing.
Key Skills:
Strong knowledge of assembly techniques (manual, semi-automated, automated).
Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
Hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, TPM, and quality systems (ISO/TS/IATF).
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
ERP/MES system knowledge is preferred.
