The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of boom pump production by monitoring, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processes. The role involves implementing and maintaining quality standards, conducting inspections, and collaborating with production and design teams to resolve quality issues.
2. Key Responsibilities
· Quality Control & Inspection:
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections for materials, components, and finished products.
- Perform weld inspections and ensure compliance with welding standards.
- Verify dimensional and functional accuracy of components and assemblies.
· Standards Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, relevant ASTM, DIN, or other applicable standards.
- Monitor compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
· Process Monitoring & Improvement:
- Review and analyse production processes to identify quality gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with the production team to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
- Implement root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues using tools like 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
· Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain quality control records, including inspection reports, deviation reports, and CAPA documentation.
- Generate and review quality metrics to provide regular updates to management.
· Supplier Quality Management:
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure quality of raw materials and components.
- Perform supplier audits and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
· Training & Development:
- Train production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular quality awareness sessions for operators and team leads.
3. Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering,
Experience:
5 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in heavy machinery or construction equipment manufacturing.
Certifications/Licenses:
Knowledge of safety standards and environmental compliance
Special Skills:
· Strong knowledge of QA tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA).
· Proficiency in using measurement instruments (e.g., callipers, micrometres, CMM).
· Familiarity with ERP systems and basic knowledge of Solid Edge or similar CAD software.
