- The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Factory will support the Factory Head in managing day-to-day operations at the Ambadwet manufacturing unit. This facility focuses on producing batching plants and fabricating boom pump bodies and arms. The role involves direct oversight of production, fabrication, labour deployment, logistics, stores, and safety compliance, with the goal of ensuring timely, cost-effective, quantity and quality-driven output.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Fabrication
- Supervise manufacturing of batching plants and boom pump components.
- Ensure quality and schedule adherence in all fabrication and assembly activities.
- Ensure painting activity are carried out as per specifications.
- Oversee erection and pre-dispatch testing/commissioning where applicable.
Labour & Team Management
- Manage a mix of permanent, casual, and contractual labour.
- Allocate manpower efficiently across shifts and tasks.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and morale on the shop floor.
Stores & Materials
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and bought-out items.
- Coordinate with the stores team for inventory accuracy and stock levels.
- Monitoring For inventory control
Logistics & Dispatch
- Plan dispatches in coordination with the Sales And Sales Admin for batching Plant and For Boom Pump in Coordination with Goa plant.
- Oversee movement of finished goods, packing, documentation, and handover.
Safety, Health & Compliance
- Enforce EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards on the shop floor.
- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure statutory compliance.
Process Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement with basic lean tools (5S, Kaizen).
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Design, PPC, Procurement, and QA teams for smooth production flow.
- Production Planning to be done to control excess model production.
- Provide regular production updates and MIS reports to the Factory Head.
Required Qualifications
Education:
BE in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 16 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Certifications/Licenses:
Certification in Lean Six Sigma
Special Skills:
Experience in heavy engineering / construction equipment manufacturing /Heavy fabrication Industry.
Painting Process with Shot Blasting
Familiarity with ERP / SAP systems and production planning tools.
Familiarity with EHS regulations, logistics coordination, and stores systems
Managing contract and casual labour workforce
Proven leadership and people management abilities.
