Job Description [ Domain Head, Corporate Affairs ]
1. Purpose
...Build coalitions and expand relationships with key decision-makers, policymakers, Central, state and local level officials.
Participate in the development of policy positions, strategies, and execution of tactics to influence the policy making process at Central & state level legislative activity.
Work at the intersection of business and government, offering a unique approach to identifying emerging policy risks and opportunities, to shaping legislation, policy, and government decisions to HMIL advantage.
Work collaboratively with external & internal stakeholders across the Auto Industry to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies and member service programs.
Inform, coordinate and mobilize member company’s participation in grassroots advocacy efforts to achieve industry’s government relations goals.
2. Major Responsibilities & Applied Activities
Key Accountabilities
Govt. & Trade Bodies Networking
Responsible for developing networking and advocacy strategies to advance HMIL interests and to advise and support management regarding communication and advocacy with policymakers.
- Manages and coordinates participation in relevant industry associations and membership organizations.
Corporate Risk Management
Early indication of changes in political behavior, govt. bureaucracy, policy & regulation changes.
3. Proactive Government Relations
A proactive government relations effort for fewer regulations to minimize negative impacts on business
Govt. relations strategies for current and emerging issues
Business to government advocacy connecting members directly with policy makers
Analytically-based case preparation promoting evidence-based decision-making
Issue briefings and materials required to make a strong case for HMIL & Auto industry
4. Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Management
Participation in regulatory consultations with key stakeholders
Technical bulletins containing government updates on regulatory and legislative changes, compliance information and more to remain compliant
Bi-weekly regulatory updates reporting on municipal, provincial, national and international regulatory activities
Technical advice on compliance with new and existing regulations
Enforcement information and updates required for compliance
Environmental scans of issues, legislation, regulations & government policy
5. Operational Support System
Through Govt. Networking Channel to resolve issues and save the business losses
Licenses & Approvals for various imports and QCO
Collaboration between the internal departments and Govt. bodies & trade bodies
