If getting a government job has been your dream, it’s time to cheer.Riding high on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, public sector undertakings (PSUs) have floated over 70,000 job openings in the last four months and there are many more to come. National Highway Authority of India, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Railway Recruitment Boards, among several other PSUs and banks, have doled out vacancies across functions.“PSUs will see aggressive hiring through 2015-16, and this is expected to be the highest-ever recruitment drive in over a decade,” said Aditya Narayan Mishra, president — staffing, Randstad India, a recruiting firm. “However, government initiatives like ‘Make in India’ will definitely be a big boost for job creation.”Several vacancies for engineers, teachers, scientists, policemen, clerks, management trainees, data-entry workers, among others have been on offer.
