1. Quality Management System Leadership
Strategy and Policy: Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), often based on standards like ISO 9001, across all operational processes.
Compliance: Ensuring all products and processes comply with national and international quality standards, customer specifications, and statutory/regulatory requirements specific to the aluminium extrusion industry.
Audits: Planning and leading both internal and external audits (including regulatory and certification audits) and acting as the Management Representative (MR) for quality-related activities.
2. Manufacturing and Process Quality Control
Quality Planning: Establishing comprehensive Quality Plans for raw materials, in-process production (extrusion, rolling, finishing), and final product inspection.
Inspection and Testing: Overseeing and monitoring all Quality Control (QC) activities, including the inspection and testing of raw materials, chemical composition (spectrometer analysis), mechanical properties, and finished product dimensions/surface quality.
Measurement Management: Ensuring the proper calibration, maintenance, and functioning of all inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IMTE).
3. Non-Conformance and Continuous Improvement
Problem Resolution: Investigating, analyzing, and resolving internal and external non-conformances, product defects, and customer complaints.
CAPA Implementation: Leading the establishment, review, and effective implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate root causes of quality issues.
Continuous Improvement: Driving a culture of Total Quality Management (TQM), implementing quality circles (QCC), and initiating projects for process and product improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce rejection/rework rates.
4. Leadership and Stakeholder Management
Team Leadership: Providing guidance, training, and strategic direction to the QA/QC team, managing departmental activities, and developing staff competence.
Inter-Departmental Coordination: Collaborating closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and marketing departments to ensure quality expectations are integrated throughout the product lifecycle and new products are developed to customer specifications.
Supplier Quality: Managing and auditing supplier quality, ensuring incoming materials meet required standards, and driving supplier development.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: Significant experience (12+ years) in Quality Assurance and Quality Control, with a substantial part of that experience in the aluminium extrusion and manufacturing industry.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of aluminium alloy characteristics, extrusion/rolling processes, surface treatments, and relevant national/international standards.
Certifications: Proven expertise in ISO 9001 and experience with other relevant management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
