The Import/Export Assistant is responsible for supporting the import and export operations. This includes ensuring:
Timely preparation and processing of shipping documentation Coordinating with shipping companies, truck companies, freight forwarders, and government agencies
Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies

Keeping customers updated with information on their shipments
Flagging and sorting out issues in shipments
Roles and Responsibilities :
Arrange domestic and international import/export shipments via air, truck, rail, and ocean
Advise proper shipping requirements of clients with carriers and overseas agents via phone and email
Select shipment routes with carrier based on the final destination of shipment, nature of goods shipped, transit time, and required delivery schedule of the client.
Prepare documents for Export Shipment such as Invoice, Packing List and Shipping Instruction.
Prepare documents for Import Shipment such as Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (Waybill) and Arrival Notice.
Follow standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of Customs and Shipping Companies .
Make arrangements with customs brokers to facilitate the passage of goods through Customs.
Communicate/correspond with overseas agents/partners and clients in a timely manner, including pre-alerts / Shipping advice, shipment status, etc.
Track shipments and keep customers and overseas agents informed with status of orders
Provide customers with delivery notifications with proper documents
Provide accurate information and notification to agents and clients of import and export shipments.
Notify clients and agents of delays or changes to the routing of their freight.
Provide timely and accurate response/s to all customers queries and requests.
Do billing and cost entry to ensure that files are closed as quickly as possible.
Other general affairs as indicated by superiors.

Qualifications , Skill Sets and Experience :
Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree. A degree in Customs
Administration is desirable.
Knowledgeable in basic freight forwarding.
Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and web-based software.
Work experience in Import, Export and/or Customs Brokerage in a Freight
Forwarder/Logistics Company is a plus.
