Key Objectives (purpose and summary)
To ensure the dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and compliance of machined castings used in wind turbine components.
Major Responsibilities
...- Perform dimensional inspection of machined castings using precision instruments (CMM, Vernier, Micrometre, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge).
- Knowledge in Interpretation of drawings
- Visual Inspection of castings as per MM-SP55 and EN Standards
- Verify tolerances as per engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Conduct surface finish checks and visual inspection for defects (porosity, cracks, inclusions).
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain records in ERP/QMS systems.
- Document non-conformities and initiate corrective actions.
- Support PPAP, FAI (First Article Inspection), and internal audits.
- Collaborate with machining and casting teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer-specific standards.
- Follow EHS guidelines during inspection activities.

Skills required for the position
Skills and competencies that can be developed in the position
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10-15 years' experience in inspection of machined castings (preferably wind turbine or heavy engineering components).
- Knowledge of ISO standards and NDT methods (MPI, DP) is an advantage.

- Strong knowledge of GD&T, machining processes, and casting defects.
- Proficiency in CMM programming and usage of precision measuring tools.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with SAP/QMS systems for documentation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer interaction and resolving quality issues.
- On time submission of 8D reports to customer.
- Knowledge of casting, machining and surface treatment technologies
- Knowledge of sourced items / materials
- Six Sigma green belt or similar
