Job Description - Automation Engineer
MISSION: -
Deploys Catalog Equipment at the request of a Lead Engineer/Affair Leader - This is accomplished
through use of a catalog dossier, participates in the deployment study and develops the installation and
commissioning specification....
- Works with the supplier to start up the equipment on site - Participates in equipment installation &
start-up in collaboration with engineers from other metiers
- Ensures technical dossier is up to date on behalf of the equipment referent- Ensures the dossiers are
updated as per OTG/OTS instruction. Complies with Non-Conformity, NC / Demand Evolution, DE,
release processes. Records in generic deployment plan. Reports back to the equipment referent.
- Ramp up/ Shop co-ordination - Ensure the Machine is running as per specification by doing the Ramp
up activities, co ordinate with production, maintenance and other shop metiers by supporting PER, ESR
etc.,

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Provides assistance to the plant for opportunity studies and Expression of Need (CdC)
2. Provides assistance in choosing the technical solutions
3. Takes ownership of new equipment delivered by the Central Engineering Groups, including
documentation.
4. For large/complex projects, is in charge of the follow up for the implementation of the non-process
part. Contributes to the workfloor safety instructions coming with the project
5. Is the plant contact point for the central Engineering Group
6. The quality system and the methods of his group are implemented (risk analyzes, FMEA, design
reviews, quality planning, DTE, treatment of NC, ...).
7. Validations (CI, RF, RC) are obtained after the phases of realization, installation, start-up and
development of the equipment made in collaboration with related metiers of the industry.
8. Prototype projects managed by the process development teams are supported.
9. "as built" drawing are up to date.
10. Implements new modifications, tracks them and provides feedback to the equipment referents
11. For small projects, simple tasks and maintenance work orders, is responsible for all studies and
implementation. Contributes to the workfloor safety instructions coming with the project
12. Working with the Maintenance team, implements obsolescence correction work for machines and
site installations
13. Provides Technical Assistance to Maintenance
Technical Knowledge expected: -
1. Knowledge in Rockwell Automation PLC's and Drives (SLC, Control Logix, Guard Logix and K6000,
K5700)
2. Programing and troubleshooting knowledge of RS Logix 500, Rs Logix 5000, Panel View
Programing.
3. Optional - Knowledge in SIEMENS Automation PLC's, HMI and Drives (SIMATIC S7 120, PROFINET
IO, TP700, Sinamics G120, WinCC)
4. Some Knowledge in Parametering and troubleshooting of Nidec Drives (Unidrive Sp, M- Drives
and Digitex drives(M750)).
5. Ability to interpret electrical & pneumatic circuits.
6. Minimum Knowledge in Electrical Schematic creation or Modification using Electrical Cad tools.
7. Handson working on machine safety devices and knowledge about the PL & Cat
8. Hands on experience in field devices like digital, analog sensors, RFID, Barcode readers.
9. Project management awareness in capital equipment deployments.
