The Business Development Manager is a technical, consultative sales professional responsible for identifying, developing, and winning new business opportunities. The position focuses on building relationships with end-user organizations, assessing their technical needs, and proposing tailored system solutions.
Rather than managing standard retail sales, this role centers on long-term relationship cultivation, market prospecting, and early-stage project development.
Core Duties & ResponsibilitiesAcquisition & Prospecting: Proactively target new end-user accounts, win back competitive accounts, and generate demand through presence at industry trade shows, events, and field networking.
Consultative Selling: Conduct deep-dive needs assessments, perform live product demonstrations, and present technical software and hardware capabilities to potential clients.
Project Handover & Tenders: Develop technical opportunities and hand over full operational responsibility to regional Sales Managers during formal tender/proposal stages while remaining the key end-customer liaison.
Technical Integration & Advice: Serve as a technical point of contact, helping clients configure audio and networking solutions, while collaborating with internal Application Engineering teams for complex setups.
Pipeline & Administration: Track leads, visitation activities, and project opportunities in CRM software while managing pre-order forecasting.
