Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations and Optimization
- Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of warehousing operations, including inbound logistics, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, and outbound distribution, ensuring processes are efficient and aligned with business objectives.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process mapping, analysis, and implementation of best practices (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to reduce operational costs, improve efficiency, and enhance service levels.
- Technology Integration: Champion the effective utilization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and other supply chain technologies to enhance visibility, accuracy, and overall warehouse performance.
- SOP Development: Develop, implement, and enforce standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities to ensure consistency and quality across all sites.
Leadership and Team Handling
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to a large team of warehouse managers, supervisors, and operational staff.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate team members. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous learning, and high engagement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the primary interface between the warehouse function and other departments, including Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Procurement, to ensure seamless execution of the end-to-end supply chain.
Compliance, Safety, and Inventory
- Inventory Accuracy: Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy through rigorous cycle count programs, physical inventory checks, and effective management of slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Compliance: Guarantee strict adherence to all local, national, and company regulations related to warehousing, transportation, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Risk Management: Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies, particularly concerning product damage, security, and spoilage typical in the FMCG environment.
Budget and Performance Management
- Budget Management: Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual warehousing budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and capital investment in infrastructure or technology.
- Performance Monitoring: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time In-Full (OTIF), cost per unit, warehouse utilization, order cycle time, and inventory accuracy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Experience & Industry Knowledge
- 12-15 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale warehousing and logistics operations.
- Deep and mandatory functional experience within the FMCG sector is non-negotiable.
- Proven expertise in handling high-volume, fast-turnover inventory environments.

- Strong Leadership and People Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate large, multi-site or complex teams.
- Warehouse Operations Management: Expert-level knowledge of modern warehouse practices, material handling equipment, and distribution methods.
- Process Optimization: Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements (e.g., implementing WMS, redesigning layouts, optimizing flows) that resulted in quantifiable gains.
- Compliance & Safety: Thorough understanding of industry-specific regulatory requirements and best practices for site safety and security.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal teams, vendors, and partners.
- Analytical & Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is highly desirable.
