JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking for a candidate who will lead and ensure the quality performance of all New Product Development (NPD) activities including New Part Launches, Sample and Part Trials, and Quality Planning for newly developed gear components, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, internal standards, and APQP guidelines.
Job Summary:
- Drive quality assurance for all New Product Development projects from development stage to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including NPD, Production, and Supplier Quality to ensure quality deliverables are met.
- Lead quality planning and control activities for new part launches.
- Ensure timely completion of PPAP, APQP documentation, and validation processes.
- Conduct Process Capability Studies, MSA, and FMEA reviews.
- Coordinate inspection and testing of samples to ensure compliance with customer drawings/specifications.
- Identify and resolve quality issues arising during sample approval stage.
- Develop and implement quality control plans for new gear components.
- Work closely with suppliers and in-house manufacturing to ensure dimensional and functional requirements are met.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for quality issues during development.
- Serve as the primary quality contact for customer quality teams during NPD phases.
- Support customer audits and respond to concerns or queries related to new product quality.
Qualification - Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience - 7-10 years in Quality function within an automotive industry, preferably with gears or transmission components.
Knowledge -
- Deep understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D problem solving.
- Hands-on experience with gear measurement and quality inspection tools.
- Familiarity with customer quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
