Position: General Manager (Head - Estimation) – Transmission & Distribution Current Profile: Responsible for the estimation of Transmission Line, Substation, and Distribution Projects for both domestic (India) and international markets. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical) • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred • Professional certifications in project management or estimation (e.g., PMP, AACE) Experience: • Minimum of 18 years of experience in the Transmission & Distribution sector • Proven track record in the estimation of Transmission Line, Substation, and Distribution Projects • Excellent communication and presentation skills for management and client negotiations Relevant Technical and Management Experience: • Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ): Develop detailed and itemized lists of materials, parts, and labor required for projects, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness to facilitate precise cost estimation and project planning. • Scheduling: Create and manage project timelines, ensuring that all phases of the project are completed on time. This includes coordinating with various teams and stakeholders to align schedules and meet deadlines. • Vendor Negotiation and Tie-Up: Engage with vendors to negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure the best possible deals and ensure timely procurement of materials. • Subcontractor Negotiation and Tie-Up: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with subcontractors to secure their services for various project components. Ensure that subcontractors meet quality standards and project requirements. • Cost Estimation: Analyze project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates. This involves assessing material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure that projects are financially viable and within budget. • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analyses to evaluate project profitability and financial feasibility. Prepare detailed reports and forecasts to support decision-making processes. • Management Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management, providing updates on project status, financial performance, and key milestones. Use data and insights to support strategic decisions. • Client Negotiation for New Projects: Engage with clients to understand their needs and negotiate terms for new projects. Build strong client relationships to secure new business opportunities and ensure client satisfaction. • Engineering Coordination: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that project designs and plans are technically sound and feasible. Facilitate communication between engineering and other departments to resolve any technical issues. • Client/Consultant Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants, addressing their concerns and ensuring that their requirements are met. Foster positive relationships to enhance collaboration and project success. • Handling Techno-Commercial Issues: Address and resolve technical and commercial challenges that arise during project execution. This includes troubleshooting problems and finding effective solutions to keep projects on track. • Procurement and Subcontractor Management to Ensure Project Completion Within the Prescribed Budget: Oversee the procurement process and manage subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
