Job Responsibility
Common HEMM Job Roles
- HEMM Mechanic / Technician: Diagnoses, repairs, overhauls, and services engines, hydraulic systems, and components of heavy equipment (e.g., dumpers, excavators) to keep them in good running order.
- HEMM Operator: Safely and efficiently operates heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, or loaders in mines or construction sites.
- HEMM Engineer / Supervisor: Supervises maintenance teams, ensures equipment availability, plans preventive maintenance, and ensures safety standards are met.

- Excavators
- Dump Trucks / Dumpers
- Bulldozers
- Loaders / Pay Loaders
- Drillers / Scrapers
Common Job Responsibilities (Mechanic/Technician)
- Carrying out repairs on internal combustion engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Performing preventive maintenance and daily inspection checks.
- Troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical system breakdowns.
- Maintaining records of repairs, spare parts, and fuel usage.
Key Skills and Requirements
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Safety Adherence: Strict adherence to mining safety regulations and PPE usage.
- Experience: Previous experience in industrial or mining environments.
- Certification: ITI (Motor Vehicle Mechanic) or relevant technical training.
