Role Overview
We are seeking a Lab Support Engineer to maintain, set up, and support day-to-day operations in our automotive test laboratories. In this role, you will ensure test benches, diagnostic tools, simulation rigs (HiL/SiL), and instrumentation equipment are running reliably to support R&D, EV/powertrain, and ECU validation teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lab Equipment & Rig Setup: Install, calibrate, and maintain automotive test benches, signal simulators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems (DAQ).
Test Execution Support: Assist R&D engineers with wiring harnesses, DUT (Device Under Test) bench preparation, and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical setup failures during testing.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnose instrument/hardware issues, and coordinate with equipment vendors for repairs or upgrades.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain lab safety standards (ISO 17025, ESD protection, high-voltage safety protocols for EV labs), inventory logs, and regular calibration schedules.
Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of lab equipment status, wiring diagrams, software configurations, and calibration reports.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an automotive lab, test facility, or electronics hardware environment.
Hands-on Skills:
Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, CAN/LIN bus analyzers (e.g., Vector CANoe/CANalyzer).
Custom cable harness fabrication, soldering, and mechanical/electrical schematics reading.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting capability for hardware-software interface issues.
