About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Flight Controls Engineer to drive the development of flight control systems for our next-generation eVTOL aircraft. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating control laws and algorithms tailored to our unique multi-motor propulsion architecture. You will play a key part in shaping the core flight experience, ensuring exceptional stability, safety, and performance—all in compliance with rigorous aviation standards.Key Responsibilities• Architect and implement advanced flight control laws for all phases of flight, tailored to our custom propulsion system.• Collaborate closely with avionics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of flight controls within the overall vehicle system.• Lead the modelling, simulation, and analysis of aircraft dynamics to predict and optimize vehicle behaviour. • Plan and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and flight test campaigns for control law validation.• Ensure all flight control development aligns with relevant aviation and safety standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-331, DO-160, or equivalent).• Contribute to strategies and documentation necessary for compliance with FAA/EASA certification standards for flight controls.• Generate thorough and auditable documentation for control system requirements, architecture, and verification.• Build and mentor a team of controls engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.• Stay current with emerging technologies in flight control, autonomy, and certification requirements, and apply them as appropriate.
