logistics operations across its India and Oman-based manufacturing facilities. The ideal
candidate will bring deep industry expertise in handling containers, break bulk, and dry
bulk cargo, and demonstrate experience in managing global freight operations, vendor
interfaces, port logistics, and rail and road logistics.Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Define and implement group-wide logistics strategy aligned with production
objectives.
Lead all inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials, finished goods, and
intermediates across India and Oman.
Optimize logistics cost structures while ensuring reliability and compliance.
Port & Terminal Coordination
Act as the group’s primary interface with port terminals, stevedores, and customs
authorities in India and Oman.
Coordinate berthing schedules, cargo discharge/loading plans, and documentation
with port operators and shipping lines.
Multi-Modal Transport Management
Manage and optimize containerized, dry bulk, and break bulk cargo movements
via sea, rail, and road. Liaise with domestic and international transporters, ensuring timely dispatch and
delivery to/from plant sites.
Rail Logistics (Preferred)
Oversee and expand rail-based transportation solutions where feasible, particularly
for bulk inward and outward cargo.
Interact with Indian Railways and private rail operators to ensure cost-effective
movement of goods.
Operations Oversight
Supervise logistics activities at Vizag (India) and Sohar (Oman) plant locations
through plant-based logistics teams.
Monitor logistics KPIs, vendor SLAs, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
Vendor & Contract Management
Lead negotiations with transporters, stevedores, port operators, freight forwarders,
etc.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and international trade practices.
Costing & Budgeting
Prepare and manage annual logistics budgets across geographies.
Implement cost models and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Candidate Profile:
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics. MBA
preferred.
Experience: 12–18 years in industrial logistics; must have hands-on experience with:
o Dry bulk, break bulk, and containerized cargo
o Port terminal operations and stevedores
o Multimodal logistics (rail preferred)
o Preferably from sectors such as cement, steel, power, minerals, coal, or
Petroleum coke Skills:
o Excellent leadership and stakeholder management
o Strong vendor negotiation and contract management capabilities
o Ability to manage cross-border teams and processes
o Analytical and systems-oriented approach to logistics optimization
