Fitter Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine suitable materials, methods, and sequences of operations for fitting and assembly.
Fit and assemble precision metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.
Use a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., grinders, drills, cutting equipment) to cut, shape, file, plane, bore, and drill metal components.
Check assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
Set guides, stops, and other controls on machining tools, and set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick welding, tack welding).
Install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
Ensure all fitting and assembly work complies with quality standards and specifications.
Technician Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance (PPM), and servicing of mechanical, electrical, and other technical equipment and systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and longevity.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults using systematic problem-solving methodologies and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, software diagnostics).
Perform repairs on faulty equipment, machinery, and systems with minimal downtime to production.
Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Provide technical support to production and operations teams, addressing issues and offering solutions.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all service activities, repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.
Identify spare parts requirements and manage inventory usage.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and overall maintenance processes.
