The Piping Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing all piping-related activities at the construction site. This includes reviewing designs, supervising installations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, engineering codes, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor on-site piping construction as per drawings, isometrics, and project specifications.
- Ensure piping systems are installed in line with approved procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and piping layouts.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, QA/QC, safety, and subcontractor teams for seamless execution.
- Verify material availability, ensure proper usage, and raise requisitions for missing/damaged materials.
- Oversee activities such as fit-up, welding, NDT, hydro testing, flushing, and pre-commissioning.
- Ensure weld maps and test packs are properly prepared, maintained, and closed out.
- Address and resolve technical issues, clashes, and installation challenges with engineering teams or vendors.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare daily progress and quality reports.
- Participate in client and third-party inspections.
- Support mechanical completion and handover by ensuring all punch points are cleared.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and construction.
- Hands-on experience in site execution, erection, welding, hydro testing, and pre-commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of piping materials, valves, supports, and fabrication techniques.
- Immediate joiners preferred – this is an urgent requirement.
