Plant Manager

Role Summary

To lead and manage the manufacturing operations of infection prevention products, ensuring efficient production, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across all plant functions.

Responsibilities:

* Plant Operations Leadership o Oversee end-to-end plant operations including production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and EHS.

o Ensure optimal utilization of resources to meet production targets and customer demand.

  • Quality & Compliance o Ensure adherence to GMP, ISO, FDA, and other relevant regulatory standards. o Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain high product quality and safety standards.
  • People Management o Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams across shifts. o Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Drive operational excellence through lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and capital expenditure plans.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) o Champion a zero-incident safety culture. o Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Liaise with R&D, procurement, sales, and senior leadership to align plant goals with organizational strategy. o Support new product introductions and technology transfers.
  • Vendor management o Plan, Organize, Direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed internal and external, customer expectations.
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping and allocating resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus. Monitor operations and triggers corrective actions.
  • Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime. o Manage plant safety programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Stay up to date with the latest production management best practices and concepts.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior management. collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations. Ensure the plant operates with budgetary constraints.
  • Responsible for complete administration of the plant including attending and managing of various statutory requirements.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Pharmacy, or related field.
  • A degree in Operations management will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 14-20 years of working experience and at least 5 years of experience in a plant leadership role.
  • Experience in manufacturing of infection prevention products preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of production systems, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven success in managing cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of ERP/ SAP systems and manufacturing analytics will be an added advantage.
  • Confidentiality, discretion, and strong decision-making skills.
  • Relevant soft skills like leadership, communication, organization, and critical thinking. These skills help drive team performance and align plant goals with organizational strategy.
