<p>Job Purpose</p><p>The Engineer – Shot Blasting & Paint Shop is responsible for supervising surface preparation and painting activities for batching plant components. This includes operating and maintaining shot blasting machines, monitoring primer and finish paint application, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and maintaining productivity across paint booths and drying areas.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Surface Preparation & Painting Operations:</p><ul><li>Supervise shot blasting operations to ensure effective surface treatment prior to painting.</li><li>Oversee primer application, painting (airless spray or conventional), and drying/curing as per paint process specifications.</li><li>Maintain records of paint usage, DFT (Dry Film Thickness), and rework instances.</li><li>Ensure correct masking, surface cleaning, and use of approved consumables and paint codes.</li></ul><p>Process Control & Quality:</p><ul><li>Conduct in-process checks for surface finish, coverage, and paint thickness using gauges (e.g., Elcometer).</li><li>Ensure paint finish meets required adhesion, gloss, and corrosion protection standards.</li><li>Coordinate with QA for final inspection and handling of NCRs related to paint defects.</li><li>Monitor compliance to ISO/IS standards for painting and surface preparation.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Maintenance & Shop Supervision:</p><ul><li>Monitor upkeep and routine maintenance of shot blasting machines, compressors, and spray equipment.</li><li>Schedule cleaning of booths, ducts, and ensure adequate ventilation and safety inside cabins.</li><li>Maintain inventory of paints, thinners, PPE, and ensure safe storage as per MSDS guidelines.</li><li>Supervise paint booth helpers and ensure adherence to daily schedules and shift targets.</li></ul><p>Safety & Environmental Compliance:</p><ul><li>Enforce use of PPE (e.g., masks, coveralls, eye protection) for all workers in blasting and painting zones.</li><li>Ensure compliance with VOC and emissions guidelines as per statutory norms.</li><li>Conduct regular safety talks and hazard identification within paint and blasting areas.</li></ul><p>Required Qualifications</p><p>Education:<br />Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in  Paint Technology</p><p>Experience:<br />Minimum 3 years in shot blasting and industrial painting in heavy engineering / capital equipment industry</p><p>Certifications / Licenses (Preferred):</p><ul><li>Training in industrial coating systems (e.g. SSPC, NACE Level 1 desirable)</li><li>Knowledge of ISO 12944 paint systems and corrosion protection standards</li></ul><p>Special Skills:</p><ul><li>Ability to operate and troubleshoot shot blasting and airless spray equipment</li><li>Familiarity with paint mixing, viscosity control, and DFT measurement</li><li>Understanding of surface profile and preparation grades (e.g., SA2.5)</li><li>Proficiency in report/log sheet maintenance and paint traceability</li></ul><p>5. Develop and maintain regular contacts with customers for long time agreement at all levels. Implement the service plan to increase the customer satisfaction.</p><p>In this role your responsibilities are:</p><p>· Execute the service plan effectively</p><p>· Handle installation/ startup of electric tools</p><p>· Executing Annual service agreements</p><p>· Handle Customer Complaint (Warranty/ Goodwill/ Others) and ensure proper logging into QCM database</p><p>· Resolve issues of the specified territory and also be carry out day to day functions of service related job</p><p>· Ensure and meet the target response time</p><p>· Provide customer training for better up time of the product</p><p>· Co-ordinate with service sales team for proper execution of service plan</p><p>· Guide/Assist service Engineers to perform duties effectively</p><p>· Mange the key accounts directly and ensures customer satisfaction</p><p>· Arrange for customer presentations to improve product life cycle</p><p>· Co-ordinate with Project & Sales team for installation of machines allocated to service</p><p>· Analyze the problems and guide the team accordingly</p><p>· Ensure “Safety Health and Environment” compliance at on site workshop</p><p>· Find out the red-flags and analyze the root cause for failures</p><p>· Provide support to the aftermarket sales team in lead generations for AMCs and Spare parts</p><p>· To handle and administer various different techniques of service processes with regard to IMS</p><p>· On site knowledge of Handheld, Fixture spindle, pneumatic, software product, QAT  tools and accessories </p><p> </p><p>Experience:</p><p>2-3 years of experience in Service and Maintenance in Motor vehicle or other industries. </p><p>Experience in servicing or maintenance of tools will be an added advantage. </p><p>Knowledge and skill to repair and install equipment on site.</p><p>Required PLC knowledge with automation field is must</p><p>Experience in handling DC tool will be added advantage. </p><br /> <h3>experience</h3>5
