Job Title: Process Quality Engineer (PQE)

Reporting To: Quality Manager
Job Summary:
The Process Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for ensuring in-process quality control, process improvement, and defect prevention within the manufacturing line. The role focuses on maintaining product quality standards, reducing rejections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. In-Process Quality Control:
- Monitor and control quality at various stages of production
- Conduct in-process inspections and audits
- Ensure adherence to control plans and SOPs
2. Process Improvement:
- Identify process gaps and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Lean practices)
- Reduce defects, rework, and rejection rates
3. Root Cause Analysis & CAPA:
- Perform root cause analysis using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Track effectiveness of actions taken
4. Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and audit documents
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 if applicable)
- Prepare reports for internal and external audits
5. Customer & Internal Issue Handling:
- Address internal quality issues and coordinate with production team
- Support in handling customer complaints and line rejections
- Participate in customer audits and inspections
6. New Product & Process Validation:
- Support PPAP, FAI, and process validation activities
- Ensure quality requirements are met during new product introduction
7. Training & Awareness:
- Train operators on quality standards and inspection methods
- Promote quality awareness on the shop floor
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or related field
Experience:
- 4-7 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing
- Experience in handling in-process quality in manufacturing setup
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of Quality Tools (7 QC Tools, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC)
- Understanding of Control Plan, PFMEA, and Process Flow
- Familiarity with ISO / IATF standards
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
