Sr Design Engineer of low and high wattage power supply for defense /Commercial application
Job Role and Responsibilities
1) Design and Development of Power Supply: ...
• Design and Development of power supply solutions, including DC-DC converters, for various applications (e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial, consumer electronics, etc.).
• Act as a subject matter expert for power supply systems and architecture.
2) Research & Development:
• Innovate new topologies, technologies, and control methods to improve power efficiency, density, and thermal performance.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in power electronics.
3) Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, PCB layout, thermal, and mechanical teams.
• Engage with vendors for component selection and customization.
4) Compliance & Standards:
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards such as EMI/EMC regulations, safety, and efficiency certifications (e.g., IEC, ISO, Energy Star, etc.).
• CAPA, DFMEA
5) Power Supply Design:
• Design and simulate high-efficiency power supplies, including DC-DC converters (buck, boost, flyback, forward, SEPIC, etc.).
• Specify and validate the selection of components such as MOSFETs, diodes, transformers, inductors, and capacitors.
6) Performance Optimization:
• Optimize power conversion efficiency, power density, transient response, thermal performance, and overall system reliability.
• Address challenges such as noise, ripple, EMI/EMC, and thermal dissipation.
7) Prototyping & Validation:
• Develop prototypes and conduct lab testing to validate performance against specifications.
• Use tools like oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power analyzers for design validation.
8) Control Systems:
• Design and implement control algorithms (e.g., voltage-mode, current-mode, digital control).
• Tune loop stability parameters and ensure robust performance across various operating conditions.
9) Documentation:
• Create detailed design documentation, including schematics, layout guidelines, test procedures, and design reports.
• Maintain design databases and ensure traceability.
10) Troubleshooting & Support:
• Provide technical support during product integration and production.
• Address design issues, resolve bugs, and implement design improvements as necessary.Skills & Experience

• Knowledgeable in Electrical circuit analysis, filter designs/ configurations, etc.
• Design and simulation of power supplies DC/DC Convertors
• Design and control of power supplies
• Thermal design experience
• Testing experience of power supply power supplies, DC/DC convertors
• Knowledge about Mil std 810 and Mil Std 461, Mil Std 704 ,IEC and CISPRR
• 5-7 Year experience in design, development, testing and qualification of power supplies, DC-DC Convertors
• Experience of magnetic component’s design, isolated transformer, inductor
• Experience EMI EMC Test, CE,RE,RS,CS,EFT,ESD,Surge
